Rematch Beta Test - Privacy Notice

Thank you for taking part in the Rematch Beta Test! This Beta exists to test Netcode 2.0, a rework of how Rematch handles online play, especially how the server resolves contacts like tackles, goalkeeper dives, catches and ball control.
To know whether Netcode 2.0 works, we need to look closely at what happens in real matches. This notice explains what data we collect during the Beta, why we collect it, who can see it and how long we keep it.
If you've missed out on the initial Netcode 2.0 announcement and what it entails, you can find out more in the dedicated blog post.
Who is responsible for your data?
Sloclap is responsible for the processing of your data collected during the Beta. No third party has access to it.
What data do we collect?
While you play the Beta, we may collect:
Your Rematch ID. This is the identifier of your Rematch account, whatever platform you play on. The logs don’t contain your platform username or other platform account details. If you’ve played Rematch online before, your Rematch ID is already linked to your username in our account database, so we can connect Beta data to your account when we need to (for example, to investigate an issue you reported).
Match, session and server IDs, so we can find a specific match, play session or server when looking into a bug.
Your IP address, logged by our servers when you connect.
Gameplay logs. These are a technical, timestamped record of what happened in a match: player inputs, player and ball positions, actions (tackles, dives, catches, shots, passes) and how the server resolved them. They let our teams replay and inspect a precise moment to understand, for example, why a tackle was awarded or why a rollback happened.
Technical logs (vlogs) about how the game ran on your machine:
performance data, such as frame rate and loading times;
the state of the game client;
your machine’s specifications, such as operating system, processor, graphics card and memory;
your in-game settings; and
connection and network data, such as latency (ping), packet loss and other packet information, and disconnections.
We do not collect voice communications.
This notice only covers data the Beta collects automatically. Feedback you choose to post on our Feature Upvote board, Discord or Reddit is covered by our Privacy Policy and the terms of those platforms.
Why do we collect this data?
We use this data to:
test and evaluate the stability and responsiveness of Netcode 2.0, including comparing it with the netcode on live servers;
identify, reproduce and fix bugs and technical issues, including ones you report to us;
understand how Netcode 2.0 behaves in real conditions (regions, connection quality, hardware and settings); and
improve the online experience in Rematch.
Legal basis
We process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest in testing, debugging and improving Rematch. We only collect what we need for those purposes.
Taking part in the Beta is entirely optional and has no effect on your account or progression in the main game.
If you no longer want this data collected, simply stop playing the Beta. You can also object to the processing of data already collected by contacting us (see below).
Who can access the data?
Access is limited to Sloclap’s teams working on the development, testing and analysis of Rematch. No external company, including our publisher and service providers, has access to this data. We never sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
How long do we keep it?
Data collected during the Beta is kept for 30 days and then deleted.
We may keep data linked to a specific reported issue for longer, but only as long as that investigation requires. After that, it is deleted or anonymised.
Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In France, that authority is the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
For more information about how we process your personal data and how to exercise your rights, see our Privacy Policy: https://www.playrematch.com/privacy-policy.
For questions specifically about this Beta, contact us at support-rematch@sloclap.com.
